Not just the media, there are millions of ‘Apple fan followers’ who follow every step the company takes. The craze is so high that people camp out at Apple stores to buy Apple products the minute it hits the market. A fair share of wheeling and dealing happens during these ‘camp-outs’, so much so that people in the front line sell their places for a good ‘profit’! With iPhone5 successfully introduced to the market, the rumor mills have started again on Apple’s next like product: the iPad Mini!

For the past few weeks, there has absolutely been no shortage of rumors on Apple’s prospective new product, the iPad mini. Let’s see the most popular rumors that have on this smaller version over the years:

Apple’s 7-inch tablet is going to be called iPad Mini:

When it comes to Apple, names are equally important and they have never disappointed people with the names they give their products. The company is also known for its naming conventions for every version. According to different sources, Apple is going to keep the name simple and is going to call the 7-inch smaller version, ‘iPad Mini’.

iPad Mini is going to launch by the end of the year:

Another rumor that caused quite a stir is that Apple is going to hold a special conference where the smaller version will be introduced to the world and soon after that the Mini will hit the market. However, there are no specifications on the price!

iPad will have a rear-facing camera:

Unlike the previous versions, the iPad Mini will supposedly sport a rear-facing camera. The 7-inch version has a place for camera in the back. It was reportedly found for sale in few websites but was not products made by Apple.

Mass production of the Mini version:

Apple has reportedly using over multiple resources to produce over four million units of the tablet so that the company could have sufficient devices when the product gets launched.

The screen will be refurbished with ITO coating:

The tablet is going to be the first product of Apple to receive the ultra thin ITO (indium tin oxide) coating, a Taiwan-based technology. The coating will supposedly bring down cross signals and lessen interface which in turn enhances the connectivity abilities.

e-mail evidence:

There is a supposed ‘e-mail evidence’ which came to limelight during the trial between the company and Samsung. It looks like the top executive have discussed the visibility of Internet on a smaller screen and supposed positive response from Steve Jobs when discussed about the possible smaller version.

iPad Mini to be sold for lesser price:

There have been many rumors on this version. People speculate the 7-inch device will be priced lesser than the current iPad (which at present is priced around $499). There were also rumors that this version is mainly going to be produced to target mass audience and the iPad is being shrunken to bring down the price.

These are some of the many rumors that have been going around on the iPad Mini for the past two to three years. The earliest rumor was that Apple is planning to release five different screens in the future and a different screen size has not come out as yet. Apple is tight-lipped about all their new products and provide only when they are unveiled in the market. We have to wait and see if Apple is going to come up with the Mini version in future.
