I am always looking for the best snow blowers to clear my large driveway on a near-constant basis! Not many are up to the task. There are always many moving parts that don’t always function as well as they did when they were new. Many snow blowers aren’t great at cleaning the particular type of snow that usually falls around here: the damp, and heavy variety. Most augers do not rotate fast enough to draw immense amounts of snow into the housing for discharge. The result? Me having to stop what I’m doing to manually clean the jammed snow out of the clogged housing! This easily adds half an hour to the job.
However, after the last snowblower I owned finally stopped working, in the middle of winter, I knew I needed a replacement fast. I had heard good things about a particular Husqvarna snow blower, the 1830EXL 414cc Crown, but had to see it to believe it. Many people do not have to encounter the same volume of snow that we do here! As a result, I know that many people’s suggestions just won’t cut it under constant wear and tear. However, after putting up with my demanding use, this snow blower just keeps on going. There are many convenient features that are absent on most of the other models I’ve tried out, however, I’m mostly excited about the ability of this snow blower to perform the important function of snow removal.
I have a very wide driveway so I wasn’t sure how this snow blower would be any different from the others. However, this snow blower clears a 30-inch swath in just one pass! This was amazing, because other stage two snow blowers don’t even come close to being able to handle that much snow in one pass. The quality of the clearing was great too. There was minimal snow left after the first pass, which saved me plenty of time.
The push button start was a feature that I really liked because I’ve had to deal with a snow blower with a dead battery. This may not seem like a great inconvenience, but with a driveway full of snow, it is difficult to make it to the store to buy a new battery because the car can be stuck. The best part of the push button start is that it can actually run off of a standard outlet, which means that battery can be nearly drained, yet the start comes from an outside source. The regenerative power of the battery allowed me to use that battery for a much longer period of time than I was ever used to. This was a great addition by Husqvarna!
I am most impressed by the durability of this snow blower. For instance, if many snow blowers are subject to severe weather more than just a few times a week, you may start seeing problems very early in the life of the snow blower. However, I am absolutely certain I won’t have to anticipate the usual slew of problems that I ordinarily get. I will at least be able to finish this season with no headaches or worries about the status of my driveway, because this snow blower can take the punishment.
