Does Your Website Violate Google’s "Link Schemes" Profile?

It has been said by SEOs that “links trump all” and while this is certainly true, the case can certainly be made that now, “only natural links trump all”.

Recent algorithm updates by Google, particularly the Penguin update is making the job of many SEOs actually easier, because they now no longer have to blast the web with spam links due to the fact that they have essentiall lost their effectiveness.

Personally, I think this is great. That junk was ruining the web. Currently, its ruining social media, but that is another post.

I really like landing and squeeze pages because they are so proficient at "squeezing" the email out of a visitor.

Why do you need their email? Simple. Because if they found you via organic search, then odds are, they will only be a one time visitor being that SERP results are so volatile these days.

If you do receive a visitor via organic search, one thing you want to try and do is direct them to a squeeze or lead capture page as quickly as possible.

Once there, it is the job of your squeeze page to convert them quickly and effectively. I say quickly because people usually don’t hang around on them for extended periods of time.

For this reason, I like short squeeze pages that get right to the point and contain a handful of features.
